Hi, Doctor!
My name is Dr. Janel Hitson and I’d like to take a few moments of your time to share with you how I became one of the 18% of chiropractors who are succeeding within this wonderful profession of chiropractic.
For starters, my husband and I had only been in practice about five months. We had opened up a practice from scratch in a suburb of Pittsburgh, PA and things were not going well.
In preparing to open our practice, we thought we had done everything right — we interned under incredibly successful doctors who had mentored us and gave us what we had thought to be sound advice.
We had done all the pre opening steps that the various instructors had taught in school and we used all the bits and pieces of the various seminars we had attended over the years.
Through our connections we were able to get into all the insurance networks — that should insure success, right?.
All of this and five months in we were not even making overhead!
In school, we swore we would never use a consultant. I came from a family who operated their own business and had a lot of exposure to that side of the practice equation and since we were good doctors “why would we waste money on a consultant?”.
During our first few months open, we were sold a variety of advertising from various salesman with graphs and pie charts showing us the great investment we were making – none of it worked!
One of our mailers happened to land on the desk of another local chiropractor who called us up to see how we were doing and how the marketing was working for us. I had to report that it wasn’t working well at all, in fact, nothing was working.
He then proceeded to tell me about all the failed marketing attempts he had made over the years and the long list of consultants he had hired and fired. It was a long list!
He then said something that changed my life forever.
“The only thing that has ever worked for me is this little company called AMC”.
He proceeded to tell me that he and his brother had both joined and talked about the dramatic improvements AMC had made to each practice. I was amazed at how quickly each of them had grown and reflected on our own quickly depleting line of credit which we were living on at that time.
We called up AMC immediately and were at a bootcamp with in one week!
What AMC has done for me has been an evolution over the years.
At first, by simply implementing their protocols and procedures, our practice immediately doubled which put us into the black ink.
Before long we had tripled and quadrupled without using any outside marketing! We were able to start our family, buy a home, and get our feet under us professionally and financially.
After a few years with AMC, we got into the Go Getter Club and attended our first meeting. Our concepts for wealth and financial management were expanded that first weekend and have continued to be expanded ever since.
We started to understand why, in spite of our financial successes, we were not getting ahead they way we thought we should. From that point forward, we have evolved financially in ways we never imagined possible prior to AMC!
The next major evolution came when I became a coach for AMC. Coaching grew my understanding and appreciation for the procedures, protocols, and the passion of AMC.
When I was a client, I never comprehended the depth of the AMC system. As I became a top coach and instructor, I could see and understand the wisdom behind everything and developed a conviction for just how little most of us were actually using of this incredible system.
Since becoming a director with AMC, I realize that the evolution has only begun! Working with so many amazing and brilliant people, you can’t help but be challenged and grow and expand your concepts. I am now living a life that I could not have even conceived when I first joined AMC!
